Hygrophila Polysperma / Indian Swampweed

OVERVIEW: Indian Swampweed is one of the toughest of all the aquatic plants. Depending on where it is growing, the size and shape of the leaves differ.
HABITAT: Marshes and Bogs.
NATIVE RANGE: Southeast Asia and throughout the tropics.
MAXIMUM HEIGHT: 16 inch (40 cm).
LIGHTING: Medium to bright light.
WATER: 71-82 F (22-28 C); pH: slightly acidic to neutral; Hardness: soft to moderately hard.
FEEDING: CO2 is not needed.
SPECIAL CARE: Substrate is optional.
PROPAGATION: Lateral shoots, cuttings.
NOTES: This plant is like the canary in the coal mine. If it does well - then your aquarium is healthy. If not - then your aquarium needs some attention.
