These plants are grown emersed and adapt to submerged growth very well.
When submerged they adapt their new leaf growth to the specific nutrient and light conditions of the aquarium. Leaves usually end up much larger with shorter stems than the emersed growth. Can be an attractive centrepiece or specimen plant. Benefits greatly from a nutrient rich substrate.
Adult outer leaves gradually die back and require pruning as new growth emerges from the crown.
